Imagine Dragons- “Wrecked”
I understand why fans love the quartet personally I never really sat with them but this morning they caught me. Their third single off of ‘Mercury – Act 1,’ “Wrecked” is a soulful haunting depiction of loss. The lyric video is super cool, creative, and emotional. This new form of visual expression has become one of my favorite ways to introduce myself to new music.
David Guetta Ft. MistaJam x John Newman- “If You Really Love Me” (How Will I Know)
You can’t help but smile the second you hear the melody. Images of Whitney Houston mix with days past Toush, Corpus, and I in the shed/studio living life chasing our dreams, flow through my brain and a smile sweeps my face. “How will I know.”
This was a genius move by Guetta who enlisted the vocals of MistaJam & John Newman to help bring his creation to life. The trio worked perfectly, the result is a feel-good jam just in time for the holiday weekend.
Lil Yachty- “Love Music”
Say what you want about ‘EMO RAP’ in my opinion a good song is one that evokes emotion and when I close my eyes I can see imagery like a movie flow through my mind. This new Yachty joint does just that. Who doesn’t want love in their life the warm emotion it brings is like nothing else we experience as humans. Do yourself a favor and listen to “Love Music.”
Common Ft. PJ- “Imagine”
This feel good jam brought to us by one of the G.O.A.T.S. inspires with visions of utopian imagery, production you can’t help but move too and soulful harmonies thanks to PJ. The second you hit play you won’t be disappointed you did enjoy!
Nicky Jam Music Session 41 W/ BZRP
Nicky Jam has been one of the most prolific latino emcees since the late 90’s. Dropping his first project an EP “…Distinto a los Denas” in 95.’ 26 years later Mr. Jam is still creating quality hit music. Enjoy a more intimate look as Nick linked up with BZRP and created a dope record listen.
JXDN- “Tell Me About Tomorrow”
JXDN the Pop-Punker caught the attention of Travis Barker and I can understand why. This 20-year-old angsty artist has the look, personality, and talent needed to be the next big thing in the scene. Not going to lie his debut project is pretty good filled with sing-along anthems, emotional pitfalls, and how we manage through them. The fact Travis Barker co-sings this kid is enough for me to check him out in-depth I’m looking forward to hearing what’s in store.
Turnstile- “Turnstile Love Connection”
Turnstile is a Hardcore Punk group hailing from Baltimore, Maryland. The 5 piece band formed in 2010 and have been grooving since. When I first heard them it made me stop and be like okay who is this and I listened to their whole 4 track EP and felt I needed to share with ya’ll this afternoon. Angsty rock, with dope instrumentation and relevant lyrics. Check out a clip from their video below and be sure to check out the ‘Turnstile’s” catalog anywhere you stream music.
