This week we received a very eclectic music drop from many different genres, we saw the Foo Fighters turned disco, Descendents droped a new project, and two worthy mentions that didn’t get in the top 7 but ya’ll need to hear; first are Drake’s verses on “Over The Top” a record by ‘Smiley,’ second is Yung Bleu’s project “Moon Boy.”
Let’s get cracking then IMUer’s the first joint I heard today that caught my ear was “Not Sober” by The Kid LAROI ft. Polo G & Stunna Gambino. Polo delivered a quality verse like usual, I’ve never heard of Stunna Gambino, and I’m starting to dig the Kid. This is one of those joints you can vibe out to, the instrumentation is introspective which produced reminiscent therapeutic verses for these gentlemen.
Bazzi- “I Like That”
Is back on the scene with a new vibey record that’s another perfect jam to put on that Summer Mixtape. Its soulful, playful, and just makes you feel good. Takes me back to late nights, early mornings, and summer flings. Enjoy the clip below and go peep the whole video.
Descendents- “9th And Walnut”
Old School/Punkish Rockers Milo and the boys in the Descendents have released their 8th studio album. Listening to it I’m instantly transported to my room jamming to the angsty “Milo Goes To College.” Makes sense since this is their lost record a previously unreleased album from the original members spanning the years 1977-1980.
Dave- “We’re All Alone In This Together”
This UK emcee is a beast and IYDKNYK now you did and if you love Hip-Hop like myself you need to dive headfirst into his catalog. “We’re All Alone In This Together” is 12 tracks spanning 61 minutes featuring Grimmy, polished, thought-provoking production paired with emotional storytelling lyrics. So nice and refreshing.
Chiiild- “Hope For Sale”
The 2010’s Montreal Native, LA-based super producer was turning out tracks for J.LO and Usher. Yoni Ayal decided to step up into the artists’ world I am very thankful he did. This project is mad eclectic, chill, positive, and unique all in one. The project spans numerous musical genre’s showing off Chiiild whole skill set.
Dee Gees AKA Foo Fighters
Dave Grohl and the boys have tapped into their inner Bee Gee and have released a disco project “Hail Satin” as a poke at disco music and how kids used to clown on it. Dee Gees are the Foo Fighters trying something completely different and out of the box and the result is interesting listen for yourself IMUer’s.
Eddie Van Halen’s son is amazing in all aspects. The kid is a musical prodigy. He can play every single instrument, sing, write lyrics, and hooks. A true force of nature when it comes to musical creation no one is on this dude’s level no one watch his videos on YouTube you will see what I mean. He literally does everything it takes to create a song from scratch. He just dropped a new project and yall need to check it out.
