In 1918, November 11, at 11 a.m. Armistice Day was marked as a day of National remembrance.
Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954. V-day is a federal holiday in America which is observed annually on November 11th and honors military veterans.
Remembrance Day and Armistice Day are celebrated in other countries on the same day. Marking the anniversary ending World War I.
WWI officially ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day on the 11th month in 1918.
