4.2 MILLION ACRES OF FOREST IN BOLIVIA TORCHED

The recent blazes in The Amazon and now in Bolivia that are destroying acres upon acres of land and taking away oxygen from us all is being done deliberately. The fires have been caused by the dry summer heat, and deliberate burnings to help the deforestation. The decision to burn the forest came from right-winged polices from both the Brazilian and Bolivian governments.
President Evo Morales of Bolivia singed a decree on July 9, authorizing the controlled burning to increase deforestation. The plan is to expand areas for raising livestock and opening up land for the agribusiness sector. Plans have gotten away from everyone involved as these fires continue to burn out of control with no relief in sight.
According to environmental secretary Cinthia Asin the majority of fires are in protected natural areas she is asking the federal government to declare a national disaster.

“We insist on a national declaration of disaster , because we are losing a great part of our biodiversity that is also a water provider.”
Thousands of state employees, park rangers, firefighters, and volunteers are in the trenches fighting these fires, as new ones just keep starting and spreading. These fires have been burning for weeks and it seems they will continue to burn.
