Yesterday at 7:51 a.m. on I-64 in Virginia near Williamsburg 69 cars were involved in an apocalyptic looking pileup that injured 51 people.
Michelle Anaya Virginia State Police Sergeant said the weather conditions of heavy fog and icy roads contributed to the crash. The initial cause of the accident is still unclear at this point.
Amongst the 51 injured two people were in critical condition and 11 others had serious injuries that were non-life threatening.
Eyewitness Ivan Levy told the Associated Press he and his were both headed to Williamsburg for work in separate vehicles around the time of the crash.
