A Festival of Hope: The First Christmas Festival of Giving Brightens Bound Brook
On December 21, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM, holiday cheer filled the air at Lafayette Elementary School, where the inaugural Christmas Festival of Giving took place. This heartwarming event, led by Donyea T. Collins, EOF Director at Raritan Valley Community College, and Nazceer Whitley, a Bound Brook police officer and founder of the Day by Day Foundation, brought the spirit of giving to life. Families in need were gifted toys, food, and essentials, while children participated in engaging youth activities that added joy to their day.
What made this event truly special was the collective effort of numerous organizations and local sponsors, including the Bound Brook School District and RVCC EOF’s Keys to Success program. Their commitment helped fulfill countless Christmas wishes, turning a simple gathering into a beacon of generosity. Beyond giving toys and food, organizers encouraged attendees to embrace the season by volunteering and finding ways to give back to the community—whether through donating time, resources, or acts of kindness. This festival not only brightened the holidays for many but also planted seeds of hope and compassion, reminding everyone of the power of community.
