A Look Inside ‘The Apocalypse Vault’ In South Korea
South Korea: In Bonghwa, South Korea a 151 foot deep (46 Meters) Seed Vault is kept in case the end of the world really does happen. The Apocalypse Vault can withstand earthquakes, climate change, natural disasters, and even a nuclear blast. No Cap, the first thing that shot in my mind was this series ‘The 100.’ IMUer’s if you haven’t check it out.
Nearly 100,000 seeds from 4,751 wild plant species are housed in the vault, which has room for about 2 million different seeds. The technology in this place is incredible and how they are planning for the future is amazing. There is only 1 other facility like this in the world. The other is located in the Arctic Norwegian Archipelago of Svalbard.
