A Texas Police Officer Shot And Kill Another Innocent Black Person This Time Through Her Own Bedroom Window

28-year-old
A concerned neighbor saw that Ms. Jefferson’s front door was open at night, so she called a non-emergency police number to make them aware of the situation.
The Fort Worth Police Department showed up at the residence shortly after the call came in. The two officers exited their squad car and begin to search the perimeter of the house. From the body cam footage, we see nothing unusual going on outside the home. If you listen very closely around the 1:01 mark you can hear one officer say; “Is there a black person or white person in sight.” Seconds later you see and hear the officer say; “Put your hands up, show me your hands.” We then hear the officer let off a single fatal shot, he did not state he was the police.

The Fort Worth Police Department released a statement saying the officer was a white man, he “perceived a threat” when he drew his weapon. You can watch the video below and make your mind up for yourself, I saw no threat and I watched quite a few times before writing this article.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Atatiana was with her nephew when a noise was heard outside the window, she got up to investigate and seconds later had her life taken by a bullet from the gun of a cop. This is according to Lee Merritt the lawyer representing her family. Body cam footage does not show the inside of the house, but in this still frame a gun is seen in the bedroom.

The officer has been placed on administrative leave as an investigation is underway. If the gun is Jefferson’s it is legal in Texas for people 18 and over to carry a firearm.
Lee Merritt said on Facebook; “Her mom had recently gotten very sick, so she was home taking care of the house and loving her life, there was no reason for her to be murdered. None. We must have justice.”
Beto O’Rourke a Democratic presidential candidate is from Texas he spoke out about what happened.
“As we mourn with Atatiana’s loved ones, we must demand accountability and promise to fight until no family has to face a tragedy like this again.”
“Unacceptable,” is what the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) have said about the slaying of Ms Jefferson.
UNACCEPTABLE! The acts of yet another “trained” police officer have resulted in the death of #AtatianaJefferson. Gun downed in her own home. If we are not safe to call the police, if we are not safe in our homes, where can we find peace? We demand answers. We demand justice. pic.twitter.com/UZqHQzPyaW
