After 6 Days Of Violence In Belfast Emergency Stormont Meeting Called
Northern Ireland: Scenes coming out of Belfast look like they’re filming another season of “Sons of Anarchy.” So much so, Northern Ireland’s power-sharing executive is calling an emergency meeting happening’ now.
Last nights violence went on for hours. Children as young as 12-13 years where hurling petrol bombs, riot police were attacked, a bus was even burned.
The violence between loyalists and nationalists has reached boiling point residents in the areas of chaos live in fear daily. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has seen the scenes and he’s “deeply concerned.”
Assistant Chief Constable Jonathan Roberts says the disorder is most likely led by paramilitary organizations. Hundreds of people on both sides were throwing petrol bombs and fighting in the streets. 55 police officers have been injured during the week-long violence.
