Astros Win At Home To Get Back In The Series

Zack Greinke faced off against Anibal Sanchez in a game the Astros desperately needed. Washington took the first two games of the series in Houston nullifying home field advantage.
Houston got on the board first in the top of the second, shortstop Carlos Correa doubled bringing outfielder Josh Reddick to the plate who lofted a ball into shallow left field that dropped right in front of Juan Soto, Correa read the ball perfectly and was able to score easily.
Jose Altuve led off for the Astros in the top half of the inning and smocked a Sanchez delivery past a diving Rendon at third, the ball got under the glove of Soto and rolled to the fence allowing Altuve to reach third standing up. The triple marked the 23rd consecutive game in which he has reached base safely. Brantley came up and smack one through the middle scoring Altuve making it 2-0.
Ryan Zimmerman walked to start the 4th, Victor Robles came up with one on and one out, he pulled one down the line past Bergman at third scoring Zimmerman to make it a 2-1 game.
Top five we go, Altuve on second and Michael Bradley at the plate looking to give his team a bit more wiggle room, he did just that putting one in play past the outstretched glove of the diving Asdrubal Cabrera at second, getting Houston’s
Catcher Robinson Chirinos gave his club another insurance run in the top of the sixth with a solo shot down the left-field line off the foul pole. Houston’s bullpen pen handled the rest keeping Washington off the scoreboard the rest of the game.
The 4-1 victory gives the Astros a chance of evening the series tonight at 8:07 p.m. in Houston. The Nationals are sending Patrick Corbin to the hill (1-2, 6.91 ERA), the Astros counter with Jose Uriquidy (0-0, 2.08 ERA) who looks to even the series for Houston.
