Barbara Hillary The First African American Woman To Journey To The North Pole Passed Away
Barbara Hillary, led a life not many could imagine and overcame many obstacles on her way to becoming the first African American woman to reach the North Pole.
Not only did she reach the North Pole she journeyed to the South Pole as well. She had to learn how to ski, she hired a personal trainer to help get her in shape and her breathing correct, and she also raised $25,000 to help fund her journey. A modern day superwoman, she was in her 70’s when she embarked on this journey.

On Saturday Barbara passed away at the age of 88. She is an inspiration to many proving it’s never too late to accomplish a goal. Our thoughts and prayers here at IMU Media go out to Barbara’s surviving family.
