Billboard Presents Women In Music 2019
Billboard presented the Women In Music 2019 Awards. This award show is very important because we live in a world where women are quite underestimated or overlooked in society. The impact they have on our society, business and overall life are remarkable.
This was a night where not only the music in front of the camera were recognized for their achievements but for those that play the scenes in the cooperate setting. The celebration for the women lasted about three hours and went perfect thanks to the amazing sponsors: YouTube, Live Nation, American Expres, BumbleBizz and Honda. It started with pre cohost Chelsea Briggs and Lele Pans as they were the first to speak to the starts before entering the ceremony. The night was soon taken over by the main host which was Hayley Kiyoko.
Awards were given out to heavy hitters such as Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion, just to name a few. Out of the many speeches that were announced that evening two of them stood out the most. The first was from the first lady of Young Money Ent Nicki Minaj who received the Game Changer Award. Although the award for her as she is celebrated for changing the game for a decade now the Queens native took the time to honor her beloved friend Juice World who passed away last week from us. Next was young rebel Billie Eilish who received Woman Of The Year. Started off her speech with letting the crowd know and previous honorees “Yall took long a fuck” as she shouted off the top of her longs before making her short 3-minute speech. But there was nothing to worry about because most of the guest that spoke before had already left. The music executives, reps and specially invited guests found her hilarious.
