BROWNS CHRIS SMITH IN SHOCK AFTER GIRLFRIEND IS KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT

In the early morning hours of September 11th Chris Smith and girlfriend Petra Cordero were cruising west bound on I-90 in Smith’s 2019 Lamborghini when a tire blew, triggering the car to veer left and smack into the center median, according to the Cleveland Police Department.
Smith and Cordero departed the vehicle and were standing in the north shoulder of I-90 West when suddenly a 2017 Mazda 3 came out of no where striking the Lambo’s passenger door which was open then Petara, this is according to the police statement. Shortly after Cleveland EMS was on the scene and transported Cordero to Fairview Hospital, Petara was pronounced dead.
A 47- year-old woman was behind the wheel of the Mazda and has admitted to drinking. Toxicology reports are begin processed, she was taken to the hospital where she was tended to and later released. The exact cause of crash is under investigation and no charges have been filed.

The Browns will offer counselors this week to provide emotional support and care to all players and staff. Smith has been excused from the team to grieve.
Defensive end Myles Garrett in a phone interview said: “We’re all there for Chris right now, and I know he’s going to need more than just our thoughts and prayers. He’s going to need us {to be} there physically for him because that’s going to be hard for him.”
