Yes at times your brain can hear what it wants. To be a major news outlet and to miss hear someone, the results can be drastic. That’s exactly what happened to media outlet Channel 4.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson was speaking on the campaign trail and was misquoted in subtitles that appeared on the screen as he was speaking. The confusion was posted to Channel 4’s Twitter account and has recently been taken down.
The confusion is over a quote that was misheard and displayed inaccurately by Channel 4 news.
The Misquoted Quote Heard Round The Globe
The Independent was told by a senior Tory source that Channel 4 does things like this often.
“This shows why it has been impossible to cooperate with Channel 4 News, they are campaigners in this election – inventing the most damaging things possible to further their campaign against Brexit. This sort of thing is why so many media organizations have collapsing audiences. We sadly do not expect the senior management at Channel 4 to take this terrible mistake seriously and we expect more of the same.”
