Whether you celebrate Christmas or not I’m sure you have a Christmas movie that you look forward to seeing during the holiday time. We have a list of favorites that we watched as a child and still to this day. These are the flicks that will stay with us forever.
I can remember being a young boy the night of Christmas Eve so vividly; in the kitchen with my grandmother helping her prep some of the meals for the next day and impatiently waiting for my two favorite Christmas exclusives,” It’s A Wonderful Life and Hey Arnold! ” Since I was a kid It’s A Wonderful Life comes on around 7 or 8 pm. About 6:30 pm I would start looking at the clock to make sure that I didn’t miss any of the classics. OMG, I’m getting old.. I just referred to Hey Arnold as a classic.
Scattering around the house with a bowl of popcorn, a mug of hot chocolate (sometimes eggnog) to tune in with my cousins to watch IAWL followed with other hits. There was just something about these films in particular that put me in the spirit. Even when I got older I would still tune in and play the same movies and shows. Since 1997 its been the same routine on December 24. I plan to do the same with my children one day. This will be a tradition that already started for my family. Hopefully, these timeless and memorable Christmas specials will have the same effect on my kids.
Our favorite Christmas movies and shows include Martin Lawrence, A Christmas Story, Home Alone, Its A Wonderful Life, Hey Arnold, Polar Express and The Simpsons. What are some of yours?
Take the time to check out a list of our favorites.
