Dave East Private Listening Event At YouTube Was Great!

It was nearly five years ago when I heard about this New York MC that released a mixtape, Black Rose and I became a fan ever since.

Last night YouTube held a private listening for Harlem native Dave East debut album Survival. The event started off with fans and industry heads waiting for the Q&A held by journalist/recording artist Rob Markman to begin. Once Rob made the announcement for East to come out the crowd greeted him with nothing but love and respect.

Survival without a doubt is probably one of the best projects that we heard this year. Every track on it is well worth a listen and not forget how serious the production is ( AraabMuzik worked on the project). Dave used quite a number of old school samples on this project; simply giving us a vibe from the late 1970s up until now. It features artists such as Teyana Taylor, Rick Ross, Lil Baby, Ty Dolla Sign, The Dream. Although the album consists of twenty track Dave blessed us with five joints “ Alone, Mama I made It, Daddy Knows, What’s going on, Marathon.” He even brought out NYC’s very own Fabolous when it was time to perform “What’s Going On” which was quite a surprise to everyone.

Karen Civil hosted a special event for Dave to ring in the arrival of ‘Survival’ which dropped 11/8. It was a beautiful situation celebrating hard work, dedication and creativity.
