Disney Introduces​ Their First Jewish Princess At The Perfect Time

Hanukkah is quickly approaching, the festival of lights is a beautiful thoughtful tradition that has been celebrated for centuries.

Disney entertainment has touched on every type of holiday and Princess there is except for the Jewish holiday and princess. That statement is no longer true, Disney recently introduced us to their first Jewish Princess.

In a recent episode of ‘Elena of Avalor’ we meet Princess Rebecca, of Labino Kingdom of Galonia.

In the episode (which you can watch below) Rebecca and her family are shipwrecked off the coast of Avalor. They were on their journey home to celebrate Hanukkah, when they ran into trouble.

When Princess Elena see’s the ship in dispare she quickly assembles a squad to go and rescue the people on board. She then welcomes Rebecca and her family into their home with open arms.

Rebecca in return schools Elena and her family in the traditions, history, and meaning of Hanukkah. Rebecca is distraught at first because she wants to make this Hanukkah perfect for her grandmother aka ‘Bubbie’, but they have nothing they need for the holiday after their ship sinks.

While Bubbie is sleeping Elena helps Rebecca create the perfect Hannukkah celebration. Together the two families get everything situated despite some complications, but they prevail and turn disaster into the perfect holiday in the heartwarming episode.
