My first memory of Eddie Murphy is when he’s wearing the red leather jacket and hollering ICE CREAM!
The legendary comedian has been making the world laugh for four decades. Mr Murphy made his television debut in 1980 on Saturday Night Live.
Prince Akeem made his film debut in 1982 as Reggie Hammond in the film 48 Hrs. The Golden Globe Awards nominated him New Star of the Year.
Murphy went on to star in 40 films including classics such as Beverly Hills Cop, Coming To America, Boomerang, The Nutty Professor, Life, Shrek and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Where Is Eddie Now
In his new
To help the momentum moving forward Murphy is going on a tour of sorts. December 21st he returns to “Saturday Night Live” as a host and the sequel “Coming 2 America” is set to drop in 2020. He is also going to take on a nation-wide stand-up comedy tour for the first time in three decades, thanks to Obama?
Eddie’s Talk With President Obama
In 2015 Eddie received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, before he accepted the award him and Barack had a little chat. Obama asked two questions: “What kind of hair rinse was he using?” And “When are you doing comedy again?”
“I was like, That’s your question? When you go into the Oval Office and the president asks when are you doing stand-up, it’s time to do some jokes.”
“The last time I did stand-up, I had no kids, I had never been married and I was 27 years old.” “I’m 58. I have 10 kids. I’ve been married and divorced. So I have so much stuff to talk about.”
The fourth quarter of this year belongs to Eddie. It’s going to be nice seeing one of the funniest comedians and actors I grew up with back on the screen. “Dolomite” is streaming now and “Coming 2 America” has already begun filming. The return of Eddie Murphy has started and I’m excited to laugh.
