Washington– President Donald Trump is not going anywhere anytime soon. Trump was acquitted of both impeachment charges he was facing.
On Wednesday afternoon the senate voted as expected. The votes for impeachment remained mostly across party lines, Mitt Romney was the only Republican to vote against Trump.
The two charges that Trump faced were abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Two serious charges that were dismissed after weeks of deliberations.
The Senate voted 52-48 in favor of Trump on the abuse of power charge and 53-47 on the obstruction of Congress charge. Finalizing what most Americans new would happen it was a big waste of money and time for everyone involved. A Republican will always have another Republican’s back no matter what.
