Donda Vs Certified Lover Boy
Two of the games’ elitist players birthed new projects just 5 days apart? Ye’s “Donda” spans 27 total tracks with a running time of 1hr and 49 minutes. Drake’s “CLB” delivers us 21 new tracks and when the last verse is spat we’re looking at 1hr and 26 minutes. The features are so similar it’s crazy ya’ll both are up to something… Both emcees have a wide variety of spitters and crooners new and old check it out: Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, and Jay-Z. Seriously ya’ll!?! Ye has a few more features but ya’ll will have to listen to find out just like we did or you can cheat and look on Twitter.
The interesting fact, if Kanye didn’t have part 2’s of Jail, Oh Ok, Junya, and Jesus Lord his album would be 23 tracks and 1hr and 26 minutes the same as Drake’s. I just did the quick math on pen and pad.
So let’s talk about these projects there cultural impact in a wealthy shore community from the perspective of an Uber driver, we’re gonna speak about our favorite tracks, and how we feel overall about both projects. Leeeego this is gonna be fun.
So as an Uber drive on Labor Day Weekend in Avalon, New Jersey as I approached The Princeton to scoop my first ride of the night I was listening to ‘Donda’ and “Jail” was on when my rider approached the whip before he got in he was like is this Donda? From the jump, the conversation was on, the next pick-up I had wanted Drake’s “Knife Talk” that was a fun ride all three were into it heavy and had me turn the volume up up haha. I had about 35 pickups and a solid 70% of them we talked Drake and Ye it was a dope experience and unexpected.

Word, so let’s chat a bit. I really do enjoy listening to both projects. I hope Drake is done with the lover boy though for real, Drizzy is best when he’s being introspective like on ‘7am.‘ I love the fact the 6 God can flex so many different ways a true artist indeed who’s mastering his vocal range and flows.
Ye’s album I love the stripped-back production that’s still top-notch, articulate, thought out, and unique. I feel Kanye needed to drop this album for his soul, the last few years have been a wild ride we can only imagine for the Chi-Town native. It seems Ye is working through his marriage, family, friends, and the young man is still morning his Mother all at the same time. Thank God he has his art so he can express himself. It’s really nice Kim has been so supportive and has made it publicly known she can’t deal with Kanye all on her own, a genius needs a village.
