I love to hear new music, GOOD music at that. We were just blessed with a new visual from Lacey Duke with artist Skip Marley and H.E.R titled ” Slow Down” and this is on repeat heavy in the IMU office. This video is absolutely beautiful and I suggest you take the time to watch it.
“When I made the song, I was looking and wondering who could be a feature and then I thought of H.E.R. because I love her vibe and her energy really. As soon as I heard the [completed] track I was in love,” Marley told Vibe Magazine.
The video shows us the beautiful essence of young love amongst two couples in NYC. From walking through the park, hopping trains with one another and headed to a party the two are heavily in love. The video takes me back to music videos in the early 2000s which was one of my favorite times in music. For some reason, this reminds me of Ms.Lauryn Hill ( which I could have heard on this record if they decided to use another woman other than H.E.R. ) This is funny because Marley and H.E.R. first premiered the song during a show at the Hollywood Bowl with Lauryn Hill in October.
I wanna to see you tomorrow not just the thrill of today.
