Dr. Akil Khalfani Breaks Down the seven principles of Kwanzaa In this Interview With US

Every year I kept telling myself that I would celebrate Kwanzaa or do something to show the importance of it. Finally, I got the chance to do so. I went back to my alumni (Essex County College) and sat down with Dr. Akhil Khalfani who is the Director of the Africana Institute and Center for Global Education and Experiences along with being an associate professor of Sociology. Dr. Khalfani enlights us on the importance of Kwanzaa and why it should be celebrated. I was familiar with the celebration but after the interview, I learned quite a few things. How he breaks down his reasons for celebration and his explanation of the African culture is just beautiful. Never in my life have I ever been more proud to be a Black man after speaking with Khalfani.
