The Bronx loves Derek Jeter and certainly knows how to show it.
According to AMNewYork, The Bronx wants to rename part of East 161 street from Yankee Stadium eastbound. Bronx councilwomen Vanessa Gibson and Diana Ayala are planning to introduce legislation to rename part of East 161 Street as ” Jeter Street.” The initial plan is for “Jeter Street” to intersect “Rivera Avenue”; renamed after former Yankee legend Mariano Rivera last year as he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
On January 21 the next Hall of Famers will be announced. I wonder who follows the legends next. We will keep you posted and updated with more information on this story.
