Spinning Gold is the story of renowned Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart. It’s been reported by Deadline that the cast was released and Bogart’s son Timothy Scott will be directing the film.
The cast is a star stu
Jason Derulo and Jay Pharoah play feature roles in the film. Ron Isley will be depicted by Jason Derulo and WBLS radio DJ Frankie Crocker who was indicted for the parole scandal goes to Pharoah. Laurence Mark is handling production duties, his achievements include Dreamgirls, and The Greatest Showman. The filming is set to get under way in Montreal on July 16.
Bogart’s son had this to say:
“When I ask people who were around my father what it was like, they inevitably say a variation of the same thing. That is, ‘I don’t know how I survived it or if I would do it again, but I had the greatest fucking time of my life.”
“That is the compass of the movie a story of an enormously tight-knit group that made magic happen, who believed in their dreams and made them come true.”
That’s some inspirational stuff right there and spot on with the truth. Looking forward to this one it’s shaping up to be a classic. Watch as Samual L. Jackson speaks about playing George Clinton.
