HISTORIC MOMENT IN THE NFL THIS SUNDAY: JACKSON AND MURRAY TWO YOUNGEST AFRICAN AMERICAN QB’S EVER TO FACE OFF

In the Super Bowl era never before have we seen talent quite like we’re going to see displayed in Baltimore on Sunday when the Ravens host the Cardinals. Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray are amongst a rare-breed.
Murray and Jackson are both 22, and off to quick starts. This historic meeting is taking place in the second week of the season and its fitting, it’s been too long since we’ve had two men of this caliber square off and put their skills on display.
Lamer Jackson is the signal caller for the Baltimore Ravens and Kyler Murray is the Arizona Cardinals man behind center. These two young men owe the Micheal Vicks, Jason Campbells, and Russel Wilsons thank you’s, those were the men that paved the way for men like themselves to get a shot at the highest level of competition.
Harry Edwards a professor at the University of Berkeley and a long time advisor to the San Francisco 49ers was quoted saying “Teams are now regularly drafting black quarterbacks in high rounds and then throwing them into the fire.” Sometimes this works and other times it doesn’t. “They’re getting the keys earlier because the defensive players are getting more proficient at getting to the quarterback.”
Sundays Stats: Lamar Jackson completed 17 0f 20 passes for 324 yards with a staggering 5 touchdown passes and no pics. Murray in his NFL debut looked great completing 15 of 19 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Both men are well on their way to having memorable NFL careers. This Sunday is going to be a fun one in Baltimore, Maryland.
