Last night dozens of protesters that were barricaded in at Polytechnic University made their escape.
Supporters on motorbikes were waiting in the wings as protesters came shimmying down plastic hoses. The hosing was attached to a bridge they had been occupying.
As the protesters lowered themselves about 30 feet onto the flyover, they were met by police firing projectiles at them. Not everyone got away, motorbikes crashed and numerous amounts of protesters were arrested.
The police have surrounded the university trapping many protesters inside. They are using tear gas and rubber bullets to prevent them from escaping.
This past week in Hong Kong we witnessed the most violence seen in the 5 month long anti-government demonstrations. With protesters still inside I’m sure there will be more to come.
