IS IT TIME FOR AMERICA TO LEGALIZE MARIJUANA?

The most smoldering conversation over the last few years has been focused around should we end the cannabis prohibition? For the economy it makes complete sense, the various new streams of revenue it opens, numerous new job opportunities, and just the taxes alone would be millions of dollars. Is America ready to be a United Stoned America? No weed doesn’t make you violent but if abused like alcohol it can lead to depression and anxiety issues, strangely enough it also helps people with those type of issues.
That decision lies on the shoulders of the D.C. Council. According to Paul Armentano who is the deputy director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML?), reported that The Council has a bill on the table to fully legalize marijuana. In 2014 it all began when The Council passed legislation to decriminalize minor marijuana possession and personal cultivation.
In July, Hawaii became the 26th state to decriminalize marijuana. Various states have also went ahead and released men and woman locked up for low level offenses and in turn allows them to contribute back into society and fuel the economy and not use the states tax money it’s a win for everyone.
Like alcohol, weed would just have to be regulated by lawmakers and the marijuana machine will need guidelines to follow and adhere too. We all know the drug game has a huge market, the economy is fueled with money from these drugs illegally or legally.

Legalizing marijuana would allow each states economy to prosper over just the tax money alone, if everything falls apart and weed fails off the table of discussion it will go back to the way it used to be and you will just have to meet up in the parking lot of your local bodega or get up with the janitor at your local mall. America wouldn’t skip a beat, but now that we’ve seen the money that comes with the legalization, within in the next few years with the proper ID you should be able to walk into your local dispensary and exit with drugs that used to be illegal.
What do you think IMUer’s are you for or against the legalization of marijuana, drop your comments below and let’s start the discussion.
