Jade Jones UK Taekwondo 2x Olympic Champion Upset By Alizadeh
Tokyo Japan; The Olympics: Jade Jones the UK’s two-time Olympic Champion in the martial art of Taekwondo distressingly lost in the first round to the number 16th seeded Kimia Alizadeh from Iran, living in Germany representing the Refugees. Kimia’s story is a tough, beautiful tale that is turning out to be something only dreams are made of.
Long story short the 21-year-old Iranian native, had to flee her nation over the awful way the women of her nation were being treated. She and her husband have found refuge in Germany, where she hopes to become a citizen in the future so she can represent them in the 2024 Olympics in Sydney. For now, she is representing the Refugee Team in the 2021 Olympic Games and she just upset the two-time Olympic Taekwondo Champion Jade Jones 16-12.
