Ja’Net DuBois Best Known For Her Role In “Good Times” Has Sadly Passed Away
Ja’Net DuBois was a triple threat, she could write, sing, and act. The Emmy Award-winning actress, unfortunately, left this earth on February 18th she was 74 years young.
DuBois was best known for playing “Willona Woods” on the TV hit ‘Good Times.’ She played the neighbor character for all six seasons. Ja’Net also co-wrote for ‘The Jeffersons’ and sang the theme song “Movin’ On Up.’
TMZ has reported that her passing comes as a surprise to loved ones. Ja’Net passed away in her sleep at her Glendale, California home on Tuesday.
In 1999 and 2000 DuBois won Emmy’s for “Best Voice-Over Performance” for her work on “The PJ’s.” Ja’Net also appeared in Janet Jackson’s “Control” music video. She also worked on ‘I’m Gonna Git You Sucka,” “The Wayans Brothers,” and “Charlies’s Angels: Full Throttle.”
DuBois guest-starred on many popular 1980s and 90’s television shows, she also recorded several albums during her career in entertainment. Just this past December Ja’Net reprised “Willona Woods” for ABC’s Live In Front Of A Studio Audience special.
