Jersey City Shootout Was A War Zone Left 6 People Dead

Yesterday around 12:30 in the afternoon the streets of Jersey City erupted with gunfire. The shootout ended on Martin Luther King Drive at a Kosher market.

Two shooters both men holed up in the market and killed three innocent by standards who were shopping and one police officer. The officer was 40 year-old Detective Joseph Seals. Seals left behind his wife and 5 children.

The two shooters were also gunned down by police in the grocery store ending the hours long shootout.

Sounds Of Gunfire And Police Rescuing People From The Scene

One of the shooters posted online anti-Semitic and anti-police statements. Police believe the gunman where motivated by the anti-Semitic and anti-police sentiments.

Investigators found the shooter’s van and inside they discovered a live pipe bomb and a manifesto type note.

The men first killed Detective Seals as he approached their U-Haul van at a cemetery near the kosher market. According to a law enforcement official the van was linked to a homicide earlier in the week.

Surveillance footage shows the suspects shooting Detective Seals and driving away to the near by market. Video footage then shows the shooters parking the van and entering the store with two long rifles.

This was where the carnage began the men shot and killed three bystanders and then they were gunned down by police. The stand-off lasted over an hour.
