Jersey’s Sydney McLaughlin Gets A Track Named After Her
Dunellen, Columbia, New Jersey: World record holder in high school track, 400-meter hurdles, gold medal winner, Olympic Champion, and a New Jersey native Sydney McLaughlin, was honored at her high school alma mater. How you may ask? With a track bearing her name, that’s a dope honor indeed. 22-year-old McLaughlin was humbled and honored by the presentation. Roughly 300 people were in attendance including friends and family.
“It’s home, family that’s the best part for me. It’s been awesome being able to be home, with family, and finally celebrate. It took a little time, with travel and everything. But it’s just really great to have the opportunity to share it with everyone else. This is very overwhelming, I look at everyone here and I think this is more than community, this is a family.”
