Kanye West Files To Change Name To ‘YE’
“I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means ‘you’. So I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. Ye – just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything.”
-Kanye West
Kanye West has always been able to express himself in a uniquely beautiful way even in ugly situations. True Gemini fashion, if your not one you wouldn’t understand our minds work differently. When he introduced himself to the world in 2004 with the “Through The Wire” video he was able to enamor a legion of followers who’ve been following him ever since. Without question, YE has lost some friends and fans along the way, so is life, and true resilience will always shine. Kanye West is a unique light that can shine so brightly on this world. He was on his path when life took him on the journey it did. I feel ever since he’s distanced himself from his ex KK he’s back on his true plight.
Sure YE may be a bit eccentric and a perfectionist. He is also the best showman of 2000’s hands down! I’v been blessed with seeing him twice and its nothing short of a religious experience. When YE is on his pen game maybe 10 emcees can compete, production game is one of the best in the industry, and his showmanship is the best I’ve ever seen.
44-year-old Kanye Omari West has officially filed paperwork to have his name legally changed to ‘YE.’ A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge must approve the petition for the name change to become official. “Personal reasons” are the explanation West gives when asked why the name change.
Fair enough, who is anyone to questions a man’s decision? A new name gives him a fresh start and the meaning behind ‘YE’ is beautiful. IMUer’s watch the video above and listen to some of Kanye’s dopest joints throughout the years. Please be sure to subscribe in the top right corner.
