Kid Cudi Pays Homage To Kurt Cobain
To the naked eye Kid Cudi just wore a dress on Saturday Night during his live performance on SNL. To the ones that understand how gigantic and diverse the culture is today, Cudi was showing respect to one of our most memorialized souls. It takes a set of you know what to perform in a dress, one must also be very comfortable with who they are as an individual.
Both of Cudi’s performances paid homage to Cobain. Kid has always been someone who’s not afraid to push the culture or spark conversation. This week marked the 27th anniversary of Cobain’s passing. On April 5, 1994, Kurt took his life at 27. The 37-year-old Cudi rocked a dress similar to the one Cobain wore when he was on the cover of “The Face” in 1993.
“Tequila Shots” the first song Cudi performed he rocked a cardigan similar to the one Kurt wore during his classic MTV Unplugged performance. The dress Cudi wore during his performance of “Sad People” is going to be part of his new upcoming collaboration with stylish streetwear brand Off-White.
Virgil designed the dress for me. I told him I wanted to show love to Kurt with a floral print sundress and this man, made a masterpiece. Thank You @virgilabloh ur a f—– genius!! Love you man we did it!!!
