League Championship Series Gets Rolling: Highlights And Recap

Friday night kicked off the NLCS in St. Louis, fans were treated to a pitchers duel. Miles Mikolas faced off against Anibal Sanchez both men pitched well enough to win. The Nationals were able to plate a run in the second inning, and that would be all they needed.
Anibal Sanchez was untouchable. He threw 7 2/3 innings, walked 1 batter and gave up only 1 hit while striking out 5 Cardinals. Jose Martinez came into pinch hit and broke up Anibal’s no-no. Sean Doolittle came into bail the Nats out and he nailed the door shut.
Mikolas looked good he just gave up untimely hits. Miles tossed 6.0 innings scattered 7 hits, walked 2, struck out 7 and gave up a run. Yan Gomes who is the first-ever Brazilian born major league player knocked in Howie Kendrick in the second. In the 7th Howie Kendricks hit a base knock up the middle plating Adam Eaton who tripled to start the inning, that put Washington up 2-0. That was all Sanchez needed as he was lights out.




Game 2 last night Max Scherzer gave the Cardinals bats a fit allowing only 1 hit over 7 innings while striking out 11, nearly 2 batters an inning. Sean Doolittle was again called upon he started the 8th inning, he did give up 1 run on two hits. Adam Wainright had a quality start hurling 7 1/3, allowing 7 hits, 3 earned runs and 11 K’s. Adam Eaton had two RBI’s for the Nationals as they held on 3-1 to take a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. Game 3 will be in Washington at 7:38 p.m. you can catch the action on TBS. NLCS Game 2: Nationals Vs Cardinals
The Yankees and Astros kicked of game 1 of the ALCS last night as well. They beat a tough Houston team formidably 7-0 to take a 1-0 lead. Massahiro Tanaka looked good tossing 6.0 innings, striking out 4, and giving up one hit.
Zack Greinke pitched well but not well enough to win. Greinke pitched 6.0 , scattered 7 hits and stuck out 6 and allowed 3 earned runs. Houston couldn’t get the offense together with only three hits and two walks its tough to score against anyone.
Game 2 is going down today at 8:08 p.m. on FS1. Astros are starting right handed ace Justin Verlander, the yankees will counter with lefty James Paxton. Check out the highlights from game 1 and be sure to watch game 2 tonight.
