Leonardo DiCaprio Donates $5M To Help The Amazon Wildfires

Hollywood icon and well know philanthropist Leonardo DiCaprio has joined forces with Laurene Powell Jobs and Brian Sheth together they have created an organization the Earth Alliance. The operation formed just last month, and have leaped into action with The Amazon Forrest Fund donating a generous $5 Million Dollars to help bring these awful wildfires to rest and to help the local communities.

“The fund will focus critical resources for indigenous and local communities working to protect the Amazon against the surge of wildfires“.

The funds are going to be distributed between five local groups focused on stopping these horrific fires: Instituto Associacao Floresta Protegida, Coordination of the Indigenous Organizations of the Brazilian Amazon, Instituto Kabu, Instituto Raoni, Instituto Socioambie.
