LSU Wins National Championship Defeats Clemson 42-25
Joe Burrow and the LSU Tigers capped off an undefeated season in the perfect way. They defeated the defending champs No.3 Clemson 42-25. No.1 LSU finished the season a perfect 15-0 and took home the National Championship trophy.
The Tigers season was a special one and for Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow it was extra special. Just two years ago Joe was a backup QB in the Ohio State program, but in May of 2018 he announced he was transferring to LSU. I would say Joe made the correct choice.
LSU overcame their first double-digit deficit of the season and claimed their first national title since 2007.
The Tigers put up 628 yards of total offense in an epic offensive outing. Burrow went 31 of 49 throwing for 463 yards and 5 touchdowns, he also added 58 yards rushing and a TD accounting for all of LSU scores. Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson both had 9 receptions and over 100 yards receiving. Clyde Edwards-Helaire had 16 carries rushing for 110 yards.
Clemsons offense looked great early before LSU’s defense stepped it up. Trevor Lawrence completed 18 of 37 passes for 234 yards he also added 49 yards on the ground with one TD. Travis Etienne carried the ball 15 times and rushed for 78 yards and a score. Justyn Ross and Travis Etienne both had 5 receptions in the loss.
Congrats LSU you are the 2019-20 NCAA National Champs enjoy the offseason and good luck in the NFL draft in April.
