Master P Wants To Be Hip-Hop’s First Head Coach
“We Will Win And Zion Will Be Happy.”
California Streets; Master P was styling walking down the pavement in Cali when TMZ spotted him. As we all know P had a stint with the Hornets and Raptors in 98′ and 99′ playing during the pre-season both years. The gentleman got to talking, the topic of basketball and coaching came up.
Master P said he would fully embrace the opportunity if it were to present itself to return to the NBA as a coach. During the convo MP makes some very valid points; He can understand the players a bit differently than the average coach. He’s both played on the court and performed as a Hip-Hop artist, well I don’t have to tell you but they go together like eggs & bacon. Perspective is everything, this younger generation of athletes are different than LeBron’s era, Master P understands that thanks to his younger sons who play ball.
Possibly fresh-minded thinking could get to these younger players with a world of talent but possess a mindset that could tarnish their greatness.
“I’ve played professional basketball. I’ve coached a lot of great players in the league. I think it’s time for something different. I know I could show players like Zion, I could be somebody that can understand them. We would win and Zion would be happy. It’s motivating the players and understanding that’s the most important thing.”
