“There Is No Life, Without Risk“
How true is that y’all. The trailer for ‘The Colony’ puts it to us like that at the end of the 2 minute plus highlight real. This flick looks dope and the synopsis goes like this. After some climate related disasters the majority of Earth is underwater. So people had to escape to another habitable planet.
After settling in there for a while the new Colony could no longer produce children. Somehow everyone became infertile. So young astronaut Blake returns home to the Earth she abandoned when she was a child to help find a way to keep her people from disappearing forever.
What Blake finds is a planet that’s been devastated. As she begins exploring she finds signs of life and children which means the solution to their problems could very well be here on Earth. These solutions will come at a cost mostly to ones who are defending their home from invaders.
‘The Colony‘ is directed by Tim Fehlbaum, who’s also the co-writer alongside Mariko Minoguchi, and the film was executive produced by Roland Emmerich who also did the same thing for ‘Independence Day.’
