Since January when the coronavirus was first being seen in China, the world began to notice. In just 2 months COVID-19 has found itself crossing hemispheres. 60 locations across the globe have themselves a coronavirus situation on their hands.
I myself was just up in Newark, New Jersey and a lot of the mom ‘n’ pop shops and restaurants had hand sanitizer on or around the counter.
88,443 cases have been recorded across the world, with 3,041 of those cases resulting in a fatality. The U.S. now has 89 patients who have contracted the virus from coast to coast, and two people have now passed away.
The patient in New York is a woman in her 30’s who recently returned from a trip to Iran. She is currently isolated in her home, said New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
“The patient has respiratory symptoms, but is not in serious condition and has been in a controlled situation since arriving to New York.”
“There is no cause for suprise this was expected. As I said from the beginning, it was a matter of when, not if there would be a posotive case of the novel coronavirius in New York.”
– Cuomo’s statement
Oxiris Barbot is New York City’s Health Commissioner he said ‘Disease Detectives’ have identified the patients’ contacts and I’m sure they will be monitored for symptoms.
“As we confront this emerging outbreak, we need to separate facts from fear and guard against stigma and panic,” the spoken word from Barbot.
Seven new cases were reported in Washington State yesterday which brings there total to 13, 10 of those have been reported in King County. The first two cases showed up in Florida yesterday as well.
