Nicki Minaj Announces Retirement From Rap. ‘I’ve Decided To Have My Family.’

Earlier today Nicki Minaj announced to us on Twitter that she is retiring from her career to have a family. Many of us are hoping that this is a publicity stunt but it’s looking real.

The YMCM signee is 36 years old and has made tremendous accomplishments throughout her career. Under her belt, she holds 4 studio albums, 3mixtapes, and over 100 singles. Not bad at all for a woman in a male-dominated industry. Even though Nicki has not received some high accolades for her work such an as a Grammy she still continued to work harder than ever. Maybe Nicki will take a small break and come back with a single or album that is for sure to get her a Grammy.

I’m surprised and a little sad the Original Barbie is stepping down gracefully from her throne. In August Minaj announced her and boyfriend Kenneth Petty were going to get married in about 80 days. “I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later,” Minaj said.

Nicki paved the way for Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B., City Girls, etc. The new crop has some promise, and a huge uphill battle, Mrs. Minaj has left the torch up for grabs.
