Puerto Rico Hit With A 6.0 Magnitude Earthquake Just Hours After Power Was Restored
Saturday morning after Puerto Rican’s had just gotten their power back on, another quake came rumbling through. This one recorded a 6.0 on the richter scale.
This latest quake occurred in the Caribbean Sea, just 8 miles south of Indios at a depth of only 6.2 miles.
All week Puerto Rico has been dealing with temblors. The US territory was expected to have power returned to 3 million residents before Saturday’s quake.
Electric Energy Authority said parts of Lares, Adjuntas, Ponce and San German lost power after the quake this morning.
500 earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.0 or higher have shaken Puerto Rico since December 28th.
