RED CARPET AND LAUNCH PARTY EXCLUSIVE: BET PREMIERE OF FIRST WIVES CLUB AND BIGGER

On Thursday, the 19th of September, BET+ played host and threw an incredible launch party with a red carpet for their new streaming service. The festivities were held at NeueHouse in Hollywood. Immediately after the carpet, guests experienced a demo of the new platform, DJ Millie livened up the party, as signature cocktails began flowing and thematic pop up displays who’s focal point was the debut of new streaming series FIRST WIVES CLUB, BIGGER, upcoming Tyler Perry productions THE OVAL and SISTAS, along with TV classic MARTIN, which will be available to stream in its entirety on the new platform.
The stars were out in abundance in Cali on Thursday attendees included FIRST WIVES CLUB cast members Michelle Buteau, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Mark Tallman, RonReaco Lee and Creator/Executive Producer Tracy Oliver, as well as BIGGER cast members Tanisha Long, Angell Conwell, Rasheda Crocke, TerrenceTerrell, Tristen J. Winger, Angela Ko, Warren Burke and Chase Anthony.
Some of the other attendees included the likes of Sterling K. Brown, actress Gabrielle Dennis, creator/writer/producer Lena Waithe, BET+ general manager Devin Griffin and BET Network president Scott Mills. Also in attendance were SISTAS cast members KJ Smith and Novi Brown, THE OVAL cast members Lodric Collins, Taja Simpson, Vaughn Hebron, Ciera Payton, Teesha Renee, Matthew Law and Ptosha Storey.

The First Wives Club is a series about three best friends Ari, Hazel and Bree who have neglected their friendship, but reunite to stand by each other as they are going through rough patches in their lives. As a team they tackle music superstar Hazel’s public divorce, campaigner manager Ari’s dull marriage to her political candidate husband, and orthopedic surgeon Bree who’s husband can’t keep it in his pants. Frustrated with begin the ones to make sacrifices in their lives the ladies vow to prioritize their friendship and have more fun.
Starring Ryan Michelle Bathe as Ari, Jill Scott as Hazel and Michelle Buteau as Bree, FIRST WIVES CLUB was shot on location in and around New York City. Guest stars include Method Man, Giuliana Rancic and Nene Leakes.
Executive producer Tracy Oliver is best known for co-writing the hit film GIRLS TRIP. FIRST WIVES CLUB is predominantly written and directed by female filmmakers including: Jamie Babbit, Anu Valia, Ryan Case, Alison Brown, Leila Cohan-Miccio, Stella Meghie, Rachelle R. Williams, Yvette Foy and Sam Bailey.

BIGGER is 10 episodes each running at 30 minutes and follows a single-black woman who is dealing with the looming threat a boy friend who is boring in bed, and the sudden lose of a college acquaintance. The tragedy drives her and her ambitious group of friends to look at their lives to ask themselves is there something BIGGER and better in life.
BIGGER was created by Felisha Marye and executive produced by Will Packer and Devon Shepard who also served as the showrunner. Starring Tanisha Long, Angell Conwell, Rasheda Crockett, Chase Anthony, and Tristen Winger, BIGGER was shot on location in and around Atlanta.
The first three episodes of BIGGER can be seen now, the next seven will be released weekly.
