RIP DANNY AIELLO “Extra Cheese IS Two Dollars.”
Unfortunately, our Friday afternoon is starting with bad news. Veteran actor Danny Aiello has passed away. According to Aiello’s family, he was at a medical facility in New Jersey where he suffered from an infection. As of right now, the family wishes to be left alone as they prepare for memorial services.
Mr. Aiello is known for Spike Lee’s 1989 “Do The Right Thing” where he played Sal a pizza owner. The movie got him an Oscar nomination for the best supporting actor. Besides being on the big screen he served acting on Broadway and had a music career as well.
Celebrities such as Cher took the time to show their feelings toward his passing. She tweeted saying, “Goodbye Dear Danny Aiello. Danny was a great actor, but a genius comedic actor. We laughed so much. Making Moonstruck … It was one of the happiest times in my life & He was a part of that happy time. Goodbye Johnny Cammareri. *Kiss* Loretta.”
We will keep you posted and updated with any information on this. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Aiello family.
