As reported by the Wall Street Journal,
A Russian missile strike killed at least 50 people and injured nearly 100 at the train station being used by civilians trying to flee the Donbas area. Fighting escalated in Donbas, the focus of Russia’s new offensive, where Russian-backed separatists carved out two Kremlin-controlled statelets in 2014.

War crime accusations continue to mount for Russia as residents of Bucha, a town outside of Kyiv, described killings of civilians by Russian soldiers during the monthlong occupation since the war began. An accusation, Moscow repeatedly denies. On Thursday, the United Nations General Assembly voted to suspend Russia from the U.N. human-rights council.
Sanctions continue to mount for Russia as well, with Germany currently under pressure from Western allies to adopt stronger sanctions against Moscow and send more weapons to Ukraine. The European Union prepared to complete a new sanctions package, with senior officials set to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv. The U.K. sanctioned the daughters of both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, following similar moves by the U.S. and EU.
