When this pandemic first started I was a delivery driver at a local pizza shop and I was deemed essential because people had to eat. Let me tell you homegirl hit the nail on the head we may have carried the title essential worker but got treated as disposable. This spot was hands down the run by the best owner I’ve ever worked for so I couldn’t imagine how corporate America treated their employees.
For way, way too long Americans have been slaving away making their Bosses and Owners rich hand over foot. In the past workers have gone on strike demanding their worth and sometimes it’s worked out. “StikeTober” feels different the world is forever changed and the people are growing reckless of meager pay provided by emotionless, heartless, management. If I was working for pennies of what I’m worth, I would be on that picket line as well.
Humans deserve to be paid fairly and should be able to provide themselves with some kind of life they work so hard to obtain. After Monday’s Hollywood strike that will send 60,000 people who help make Hollywood what it is to the picket lines bringing the total to 100,000 employees fighting for better.
