Jersey Native Sydney McLaughlin Shatters World Record
Eugene, Oregon; Olympic Trials: Sydney McLaughlin got a legendary coach, worked her butt off, and has an unshakable faith. Combining those three elements is exactly what Sydney needed to push her to the next level. The group of girls she runs with as well only helps one another grow. She said it best in the interview “Steal sharpen steal, there is no animosity between Dalilah and I.” Spoken like a true athlete competing at elite status, the 21-year-old McLaughlin is just that.
On Sunday night Sydney and Dalilah ran in a world-record-setting race! Mrs. Muhammad had the record at 52.16, last night that mark fell too…
The New Jersey track superstar caught up to Muhammad at the 9th hurdle and from there it was history. literally! McLaughlin pushed past Dalilah within feet of the finish line while being able to shatter the world record-setting it at 51.90.
