Team USA DQ’d In 4×400 Mixed Relay For Faulty Baton Passing

Tokyo, Japan; Track & Field Center Olympic Games: Team USA appeared to have won the mixed 4×400 relay but upon review that unfortunately was not the case. Officials on Friday after the race determined an exchange between two runners was made outside of the designated passing zone. IMUer’s ya’ll will have to watch the video and determine for yourself.

The heartbreaking mishap happened on the second leg of the race between Elijah Godwin and Lynna Irby. Supposedly Irby was outside of the pass-off zone, team USA is going to appeal the decision because the team said that is the exact spot the officials placed Lynna so how could it be out of the zone.
