THE JAMAICAN ICE BOYZ ARE ICE HOCKEY CHAMPIONS!??!

Read the heading again if you have to, it’s not going to change, the Caribbean land of Jamaica have kept its Olympic dream alive with a victory in the LATAM Cup. History was made yesterday when the Colombian’s fell to the Jamaican’s 3-2 in a barn burner.
Jamaica took an early 2-0 lead but the Colombian’s kept skating full tilt and tied it up at 2 goals a piece by the end of the 4th period. The score would remain tied at the end of regulation, which meant bring on the penalty shots. A classic way to end a final battle between two countries both competing for a chance to represent in the Olympics. The end result Jamaica out shot and out saved the Colombian’s 3-2 to keep hopes alive. This is the first ice hockey team Jamaica has ever had.




After the victory the players and fans went crazy, and stood at attention for their national anthem. Oliver Mair Jamaica’s Counsel General was celebrating alongside the team and had this to say “We are sooo proud of our Jamaican Hockey team and congratulate them on this historic victory! We are a people capable of doing anything we put our minds towards accomplishing.” “AKA we little but we tallawah.”
