Two Decades Ago The World Changed Forever
20-Years Ago Today Everyone Who Is Above The Age Of 5 I Will Say Can Vividly Remember Where They Were And What They Were Doing When They Heard That A Plane Crashed Into The Twin Towers. It was my third semester at Camden County College. I didn’t have class until later in the day so I was still asleep and awoke to my line trilling, it was Pop’s so I answered and I hear in his gruff voice “Turn on the news.”
The second the picture comes into focus I see a plane headed directly towards the second Twin Tower while the first Tower was flaming and smoking. It was a scene from a Michael Bay film in real life. My first thought went to my cousin Matt who worked on Wall Street. His office was in the Twin Towers, this was his recollection from that day;
“After the plane crashed into the first Tower everyone evacuated and made their way on foot across the Brooklyn Bridge. It was chaos, people screaming and crying. The second plane’s wing came smashing through the offices I worked in. It is a day I will never ever forget.”
Today IMUer’s let’s remember the souls we lost twenty years ago today. In our little community here of Avalon Manor, my cousin last night asked several others in the neighborhood to gather at 8:40 this morning. The people listened, we come out to have a moment of silence remembering the innocent victims and honoring the heroes who risked their lives to save others, the true definition of selflessness. It was really nice 12 of us gathered for silence, reflected, and some shared where they were that morning. The experience was nice and unexpected to wake up to. Watch the videos above and below let us all remember together and hopefully sooner than later we can find the unity the country had in the days following the terrorist attacks on American Soil that changed the world forever. Unity and Love is the key to the future its really pretty simple, but it’s not easy with all the separatism and hate that gets highlighted in our mainstream media. So we’re doing our part to change the game loyal readers please subscribe in the top right corner so you don’t miss anything headed your way.
