On Saturday October 5, Tyler Perry celebrated the grand opening of his very own Studio production compound, bringing Hollywood to Atlanta. The night wasn’t just about Mr. Perry, the star studded list of attendees where out to show respect to the Hollywood legends that have walked before them and paved the way so a night such as this could be possible.
Perry opened the doors to the enormous studio in grand fashion entertainment icons, respected politicians, and esteemed dignitaries all came out to witness history. Tyler named the 12 gigantic sound stages after the icons still here and those that have passed paying respect to the likes of Whoopie Goldberg, Harry Belafonte, Diahann Carroll, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Opera Winfrey, Sydney Poitier, Spike Lee, Della Reese, Cicely Tyson, and Will Smith.
The stage names paired perfectly with the number of A-listers who came out to pay homage too the past and celebrate a tremendous accomplishment. Pattie LaBella, Samuel L. Jackson, Ava DuVernay, Will Packer, Iyanla Vanzant, Michael Ealy, Loni Love, Tom Joyner, Jeannie May, Demetria McKinney, Jenifer Lewis, Bishop T.J. Jakes, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Boris Kodjoe, Nichole Ari Parker, Jeezy, Ludacris, and so many others.
